The land in Jackson County Ohio is very beautiful. The terrain is very diverse. It's full of rolling hardwood hills, and plentiful crop fields. These woods are loaded with deer. If you're not familiar with the type of deer that Jackson County is known for, look up the "Willis Buck", in North American Whitetail Magazine. This buck was taken on a farm adjacent to one of the farms that I hunt. This deer netted nearly 253" inches, Boone and Crockett. I had videotaped this deer during the summer. It was a monster. I have taken many mature whitetail in the last 12 years. This year alone I killed a deer that scored around 139", and shot at a huge, wide, pal mated, mid-180" class buck. As for my hunters, they consistently see bucks that they say "are the biggest bucks they've ever seen in there lives", and both Outdoor Journal TV and A-way Outdoors TV have both stated that they have been to a lot of outfitters, and "Southern Ohio Outfitters is one of the best they've seen." They are all impressed with not only the quality of the habitat and properties they hunt, but also impressed with the quality of bucks that they see as well. Last year we had 80 to 85% opportunity at P&Y bucks, and many others who took home that "Trophy of a Lifetime."
