Do-it-Yourself Hunts
presented by Southern Ohio Outfitters is located right in the heart
of S.O.O country. The properties that you will have access to are
located right in among our other properties, either bordered by or
close to the properties that we manage. Each hunter is given
approximately 100 to 200 acres of prime hunting land that has the
same quality bucks and same size deer herds as the rest of our
properties. The only difference being is that you do your own
scouting and hang your own stands. The same set of standards for my
other properties are held for these as well. You are to only shoot
mature bucks, and does are allowed to be taken as well.
How does it work?
This is how it works: I provide you with an
aerial map of the property that you'll be hunting. I will also take
you to the property and show you were its at as well. On the aerial
map, I will point out key locations were the deer activity is
usually the most heavy. You'll arrive on Sat by noon, scout Sat. and
Sun, and hunt Monday through the following Friday, check out is on
the following Sat by 10am. If you feel comfortable with your
scouting on Saturday afternoon, you could hunt Sunday as well. I
give you almost 7 full days to do what you like with them.
Where do I stay?
Something Southern Ohio
Outfitters does for you what almost no other outfit does, and thats
providing you with lodging that's only minutes from these properties
that's included in the price of your hunt. Hardly no driving is
involved to get to the properties you'll be hunting. Your lodging is
very very nice, and has all the accomadations my personal lodge has,
except on a little smaller scale. The lodge you'll be staying at for
the duration of your hunt will have a Tv, Washer and Dryer, Full
Bath, and a Full Kitchen, and Bedrooms as well. Meals are not
included in the price of this hunt as it is a do it yourself hunt.
What's the cost?
These hunts run $1000
regardless of whether its early season, rut, shotgun, or
muzzleloader. You must buy your own license and tag which can be
bought over the counter or on-line through the Ohio's Department of
Wildlife's Website. You will be responsible for your transportation
to and from the properties. You will be responsible for your meals
as well. You will be responsible for providing you own stands.
